Boonie Hat

Boonie Hat

This boonie cap really rocks, despite the low price. It's great for many uses and should last you a long time. Did you know they're also called giggle hats?

That's because they looked so foolish when people started wearing them in the Australian army back in the 1950s.

It's lightweight and has four ventilation holes that actually work rather well to keep your head cool and vented. It sports 2 snap buttons to tie the hat down for perhaps lift up the sides or the brim if you so desire.

The size should fit most people, although technically speaking it's a 7 1/2. It'll fold up nicely to throw in the backpack, bugout bag, glove box, etc.

Some people think this hat material is a little stiff at first. If this is the case for you, you could toss it in the washing machine once to soften it up a bit. In either case, this boonie cap it comfy and should last a long time.

One other thought is that you could waterproof it. Simply spray it with a silicone waterproofing spray and water should bead up and roll right off.

Again, for under $5 on Amazon, this simple can't be beat! If you're looking for a low cost, lightweight, durable and comfortable boonie cap, grab one of these!
